Named king - the “principled conservative” would be more concerned about preserving the constitution than opposing EPA standards they don’t like. If the other option were Haley or Romney, the principled conservative would likely vote for those people, because they’ve never called for an end to the constitution or refused to accept verdicts of courts about their last election loss, sowing doubt in every institution the democracy needs to respect to survive and thrive.

Haley would probably be the nominee if the Republican Party was mostly “principled conservatives”. Instead the party overwhelmingly supports the constitution burner. So, yeah, “principled conservatives” have no trouble seeing the lesser evil between our 2 choices. EPA standards can and frequently are changed. Once the constitution’s burned to a pulp, it’s gone.
